Not bad, but...

You're missing some key phrases! (Or at least ones I think are key :P)

"This elevator only goes to the basement, and some made an awwwful mess down there."

"What's so bad about your old man talking about seeeeeex? I had seeeeeeex!"

But there are definitely some good ones on there.

Lol thanks!

Pretty rockin'

I obviously like the concept. Perhaps it's a conflict of interest just by me reviewing it :P

Anyways, fun stuff. I don't mind the controls at all, and find that they're quite entertaining and challenging once I'm comfortable with them.

Pretty good game, and I look forward to your future stuff.

Thanks for the review :) I'm working on a sequel. I can't wait to play your game when it's out.

Very nice game

I'm loving this game right now. Technically, it's nothing new, but considering I've never gone through 2 of those boss fight (and I love boss fights), it was a mostly new experience to me. The one I had played was the Wart fight, and I loved the fact that you had that sound effect in there when you throw the veggies in his mouth :P

Very nice game, the graphics are very clean and the animation is smooth, and this game definitely provides a challenge.

Awesomely fun

This was a really original and fun game. I loved how smooth and easy the controls for the allies were. It was the most fun when there was a lot of them around you. I loved the feeling at the start of a level, where it was basically 'Me vs everyone', and then you could just spread out the allies, send 'em flying, and then go destroy in another direction.

Very nicely done, and I loved it.

The graphics are dragging you down

I love Guitar Hero, and it's absolutely one of my favourite games, and this game is simialr, and it is very fun. You have 3 difficulties for each song, and the songs scale pretty well in difficulty. It was never seeming too hard to do at all, and most times was pretty easy. You had a fairly large list of songs, compared to the competition. You included hammer-ons and pull-offs too, which was fantastic. What aren't you scoring higher?

The coding is great, but the graphics are pretty bad. They're simplistic, aren't very animated, and could have been done way better. If you had someone working with you to do the graphics, you could have most likely scored a lot, a LOT higher, because otherwise this game is fantastic.

This games gameplay is fun, but the graphics are bringing it down. If you could improve those, you might have a shot (although I believe the contest is over very soon).

Could have been so much better

2 days is a long time to make a game?

Anyways, you could improve on this so much and have a really good game. The graphics weren't that good at all. Also, the game lagged, a lot. The combat was slow, and the menus were somewhat confusing. There wasn't much direction saying where to go at all, you just had to check places out. The bars that scrolled to the top of the screen went way too slow.

That's all I could think of for now. It was ok, but if you actually spent time on it and put some more effort into it, you could have something great.

Pretty fun, but very short-lived

Well, this game looks awesome, but the actual gameplay gets pretty repetitive and doesn't last very long. It is fun the first or second time through, but after that it isn't too much fun. I am happy however that I got the second highest score as of this review :P

The sound was great BTW, went with the Flash very well.

Alright, but some annoying problems

Well, I noticed one bug that was rather annoying. Whenever you get your grade, and you go to the main screen, it jumps back to the grade screen real fast first. You basically have to hit the button twice for it to stay on the main screen. Also, when you hit the button to start while the screen is still sliding, there will be blank space on either the left or right of the screen (due to it not being centred).

My other problem was that the learning curve for some songs was ridiculous. I could do most on easy no problem, but when trying medium, they suddenly got a lot harder. There's no smooth tranisition, and nothing to get the player accustomed to the buttons. You just kind of throw all 7 at the player at once, forcing them to know how to use them all, or else fail.

Lastly, it seemed like it only took maybe 10 mistakes to fail, which is not many. When that many bars are coming down at a time, it should take a bit more than that to fail.

Overall, it is a fun game, but the learning curve is much too steep. If you maybe added more songs, fixed some things, and made it a download as a separate program, I would love to play that. But as for this version, well, it's a beta, so you can still improve.

XceeD responds:

Thanks for the review and bug report. I'll be sure to fix the bugs.
As for the learning curve being steep... The big number next to a song is the "level." I suggest players to start off at 1, then 2, then onwards up. Some songs that I made went from 1 to 4 which is pretty steep. Sorry about that though.

One fatal bug it seems

I find this game very enjoyable, and seem to keep on playing it. However, it seems that once the watermelon is introduced, that levels i bugged. When people only want kiwi, it shows '0' as a number, and when I give other people the orders they want, they never take it, and then the line gets backed up and I can't win.

Now, I don't know if it's just me, but that's the reason I didn't 5 it. Otherwise, simple but addictive game.

Toast responds:

It happens something, I have no idea why. When they ask for 0 something give them one. :P

Same problem as most RPG's

I realize you may have wanted to get people into the game quickly, but the bit of plot that is there is laughable, and leaves little reason to want to do anything. But, I pushed on to see what the game mechanics would be. I didn't get far.

This RPG falls into the trap many others do very early on. Sure, it looks decent, town navigation is easy, and so is exploring the map, but the good stuff stops there. The fighting is a huge bore. Like many Flash RPG's, the fighting is dreadfully slow. The fact that I can cure for a few points more than the enemy can do damage, the enemy can cure for the same amount, and the fact that I have less HP than the enemy make for a slow process. Fights usually come down to hoping the enemy doesn't heal at all, because that will bring things to a near standstill.

No, I didn't get past the second fight, and I played the game for 10 minutes. 3 of those were in town and starting up. The rest were for 2 fights (1 incomplete one).

While it is a great attempt, make a drastic change to the fighting system. It's just way too slow.

This should be meaningful, or informative. It is neither.
